Considerations:

Ten lagoons trail to Machupicchu is new trail and its superior instead of the classic alternative trails to Machupicchu ´cose is connecting ten lagoons, ancient inka trail still in use by local farmers, three remote Andean communities and HOT SPRINGS on day 3.  Day 4th we will visit Machupicchu all morning as other trekkers from other trail.

Itinerary

DAY 1: CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY – HUARAN – CANCHA CANCHA

We will pick you up early from your hotel to take you to the beginning of the trek at Huaran (3,000 m/9,840 ft) in the Sacred Valley; it is 1 hour and half by private bus. We will pack the horses and start our trek. The trail goes up gently following the Cancha Cancha River towards the community of the same name. On this trek along the river we will see cultivated fields and pass through old Polylepis forest, which is very interesting for a wide assortment of bird life, and the valley itself is very impressive. We will have lunch half way through the trek.

We will pass by the village of Cancha Cancha (3,956 m/12,976 ft) on the way to our camp. After a total trek of around 6 hours we will reach our campsite for the night at Acopata.

DAY 2: CANCHA CANCHA – PACHACUTEC PASS – QUISHUARANI

After an early breakfast we will continue up hill. After 3 hours we will reach the highest point of the trek: Pachacutec Pass at 4,780 m/15,678 ft. The view from here is overwhelming. The Pitusiray and Sahuasiray snowcapped mountains will be right in front of us and some lagoons. From here we start downhill for 2 hours until we reach our lunch spot, next to a impresive lagoon.

After lunch we will descend for another 2 hours into the valley. We will pass by a beautiful waterfall along the way. Also we can see herds of alpacas, llamas and sheep. Tonight we camp at 3,870 m/12,694 ft close to Quishuarani village, which has typical stone houses

DAY 3: QUISHUARANI –HOT SPRING – OLLANTAYTAMBO – AGUAS CALIENTES

After our delicious breakfast, today we follow another valley and climb up to the second pass called Willcaccasa Mountain (4,458 m/14,622 ft) in 2 hours. Again the view of the Andes, turquoise lagoons and its beautiful valleys are impressive.

After the pass we walk downhill for 2 hours, passing many gorgeous lagoons and another waterfall. This takes us to Cuncani village (3,900 m/12,792 ft). From Cuncani we continue downhill for 2 more hours towards the Hot Springs in Lares Valley, where we can have a well-deserved soak. This is also our lunch spot.

Next to the hot springs we will get in our private van, which will be waiting for us, it will be 3 hours driving to Ollantaytambo (2,792 m/9,158 ft). We will have dinner in Ollantaytambo. After dinner, we will take the train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival you will check in in the hotel and sweet dreams.

DAY 4: MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

You will have breakfast at your hotel before we take a very early bus (5:30am) along the zigzag road to Machu Picchu to see the magnificent sunrise. Once there, you will receive 2 hours walking tour of the site.

After your tour, you will have free time to explore the site, hike to Waynapicchu, or hike to the Sun Gate, or hike to the Inca Bridge before you return to Aguas Calientes by bus.

Once in Aguas Calientes you will board the expedition train to Ollantaytambo. From Ollantaytambo you will travel by private van to Cusco and we will drop you off at your hotel. Arrival time in Cusco depends on the time of your train ticket.

Important:

  • Discount of USD20 for students with the student international card (ISIC Card).  we need a copy of the card at booking and you have to bring to Perú with you
  • Discount of USD20 for minors of 16 years old that send us a copy of their passport at booking.

Included:

  • Briefing: At least briefing has to be two day before your trek (to organize everything the next day). We will come to your hotel for briefing.
  • Transportation: All your transportation is included in this trek.
    • You will be picked up directly from your hotel around 5 a.m. in Cusco and drive to trailhead to begin your trek. Once you complete the trek, you will be drive directly to Ollantaytambo, where we will take the train.
    • Train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes and from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo and then transfer to your hotel in Cusco.
    • Bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu archeological site up and down
  • Professional Tour Guide: All of them speak English, graduated in tourism and well-trained in first aid measures. All them grew up in Cusco and have a passion to teach others about their heritage. They are experts in their field working at least 5 years in tourism and will ensure your safety and happiness.
  • Access Tickets: As soon as we receive your personal information and a deposit, we are going to purchase your access tickets to all sites
  • Cook & Horsemen: We include Chef and assistant chef. Horseman and his mules to carry all equipment and your duffel bags. We will have access to our duffel bag once we get the evening campsite.
  • Emergency Horse: All of our alternative treks include an extra horse for our clients making very little progress in the trek
  • Equipment: We provide the finest equipment. We use Eureka tents that are shared by only two people. Spacious dining tent with camp tables and chairs to enjoy our meals in, latrine tent, inflatable mattresses, sleeping liner and pillow and duffel bags (up to 7Kg/15lbs per person, it includes your sleeping bag). The duffel bag will be provided by your guide at your briefing.
  • Food: You will enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner each day of the trek, along with a happy hour of hot tea each afternoon. We will also provide you snack each morning to enjoy along the hike. Our chefs cook delicious meals that many previous trekkers have raved about. We honor all food restrictions. Be sure to remind your tour guide of any food restrictions at briefing. Food is typically served family-style.
  • Drinking Water: Beginning from your first lunch until your 3th day breakfast, we will supply all the water needed. This water will be filtered, boiled and then cooled, before distributing. You must take your own water bottles or camel back. We recommend carrying about 2L worth. We will refill waters at each meal.
  • First Aid: all our guides receive training in first aid from a physician. Our tour guide will always have a first-aid kit for basic medical problems (traveler’s diarrhea, cuts, scrapes, etc.) and oxygen. We will get you off the trail as quickly and comfortably as possible, and ensure you get directly to a clinic for treatment, if needed.
  • Hotel: we work with 2 start hotels, with private bathroom, hot water and for your comfort they are private rooms with WIFE connection. If you wish to upgrade hotel please ask for options.

Not Included:

  • Food: First day breakfast and Lunch the last day.
  • Sleeping Bag: If you don’t want to bring, it´s available for rent: $20 for whole trek.
  • Walking Sticks (Pair): If you don’t want to bring, it´s available for rent: $10 for whole trek
  • Huayna Picchu: Is $20. Arrangements need to be made at least one month in advance, due to popularity. Is the mountain that stands background to Machu Picchu. It is 55 minutes hike up. Going back down is quite steep, if you are scared of heights. You will do this after your tour in Machu Picchu.

PROCESS OF FULL BOOKING

1. – We will email you booking forms for completion.

These forms will outline the details that we need from each of you – passport number, nationality, full name etc. We do not need a scan of your passport. If you are a student, we need the number of your ISIC student card, and a scan of your card. With Inca Trail bookings, we need this at the same time as your booking.

2.- Nonrefundable deposit to confirm your reservation.

  • FOR UNIQUE PACKAGE TOURS: Deposit: 25 % of the program price per person
  • FOR UNIQUE ADVENTURE JOURNEYS: Deposit: USD 225 dollars per person

  • Please note that there are costs involved in both making international bank transfers or a Western Union transfer – in both cases the costs will be paid by the client, NOT Pureq Experiences.

FOR YOUR DUFFEL:

Porters will carry up to 7 kg of your personal items. This must include your sleeping bag and air matt (if you bring/rent one). I f you rent in our office both, the weight is 3.5 kg total.

  • Warm jacket:, because gets very cold at some nights

  • Waterproof gloves (even if they are ski gloves, take them)

  • Battery Charger: There is no place to plug in while trekking!
  • Large plastic bags: to help organize and keep clean from dirty.
  • Sleeping bag: Recommend down bags for -10C at least
  • Snacks: biscuits, energy bars, chocolate, raw fruits, muesli, etc. Please note that we do provide a daily morning snack and our meal service is very complete and well supplied. This recommendation applies for all clients being used to a specific snack, as it may happen that it is not included in our selection
